The Baker wedding was the first in many ways for Bolt Photography. Being able to experience so many first with them allowed me to capture their true love. Their wedding was held at McGranahan Barn in Yukon, OK. The McGranahan Barn has remained in the same family for 122 years! The venue allows for the unique history of Oklahoma to be the perfect backdrop for the rustic, vintage inspired wedding of Micayla and Justin.
One of the first for us was working at McGranahan Barn. We felt so lucky to have been able to photograph the rich history of the homestead. When we arrived the couple was dressed and ready to go. They asked for a first look, which allowed the couple to have a private moment together, and for us to capture the majority of formals before the ceremony. Micayla was dressed in a beautiful, lace, wedding gown from David's Bridal. Justin was fashionable in a suit purchased at Men's Wearhouse. After the formals the couple separated to wait anxiously for their time to say, “I do.”
The ceremony took place inside, with family and friends filling the rustic barn with love, joy, and well wishes. Another first for us, came during the next group of formals. The newlyweds were willing to travel through tall grass, lay on the ground, and climb a tree in their wedding clothes so we could capture their personal and unique love. While we were taking pictures outside, the barn was transformed into a beautiful reception room complete with lighted floor monogram by 405 Productions. The tables were covered with vintage inspired lanterns, birdcages, lace, and a few birds. Their wedding cake was lovingly created by a friend of the family. Justin and Micayla danced a beautifully choreographed first dance. Next, Micayla and her dad brought the room to tears as they danced the father-daughter dance. This opened the floor for a night of dancing.
